In 2020, COVID-19 closed most museums, schools, and public institutions for months. During that time, museums launched new virtual initiatives to continue sharing their mission and found audiences around the country.

For the last 20 years, Pritzker Military Museum & Library built a significant reputation in the intellectual world as an academic center. In an effort to begin building relationships with middle and high schools, the museum founded an education department in 2021. When I started as Director of Education, Virtual Learning became the linchpin to our strategy of building both content and an audience. In 2021, we began work to establish the new Virtual Learning Studio where webinars, live virtual lectures, virtual field trips, and even podcasts can be produced.
In the first six months of operation in 2022, PMML hosted 6 webinars for 1,645 students and teachers.
