In 2021, I changed the way students visit the Pritzker Military Museum & Library.
There are very few museums where students are actively engaged by a 1.5 hour guided tour. Young people want to explore and learn by doing. Additionally, the small and frequently changing exhibition at Pritzker Military Museum and Library limited the ways students could engage with the content. We replaced the hour-long tour with a 15 minute learning activity to welcome students into the museum and a gallery guide to help students explore on their own.
Each of these guides contain guiding questions and key images in the exhibit for students to pay special attention to.
