The Shadows Interpretive Framework established the vision for the new tour and visitor experience. The framework took two weeks to write. Phase one was built in six weeks in 2023. Phase two, three Visitor Center exhibitions, took one year to write, design, and install. Phase two was funded by the Atchafalaya National Heritage Area.
Phase three is currently being considered for funding by the National Archives (Summer 2024) and will take two years to complete.
